in a post-∞location (janiben street walking pairs) interview they ask how was shooting w/ yoko.
baru: outside of work i spent the most time
with yoko. most of him is just a regular friend to me so. not just yoko, all the members, and that’s never gonna change. today didn’t feel
like work w/ a member, it was nice bc it felt like i was just hanging out w/ a friend.

ForSubaru’s last Janiben location shoot, the staff decided to make it a nostalgic walking tour with (in Subaru’s own words) his closest friend among the members. Yoko. They went to all the old places where to used to go and work from their time as juniors to the early days of Kanjani8. This is the second episode of the segment which i felt was more sweet the the first one.
1st
clip
When they were walking to their former
recording studio, they mentioned that the equipment broke down while Hina was
recording his song. Subaru: That’s
really true! Even in this digital age!
Yoko added the studio was free too. Subaru
said they had to repeatedly apologize
2nd
clip
Yoko is filled with excitement and nostalgia when they
visited their old recording studio (he kept shouting “I remember!” and pointing
at sofas & stuffs). In one room Subaru said the microphone used to stand
where the piano is now. Yoko then said he remembered everything now and a lot
of old Kanjani8 songs were composed & recorded here like Sukiyanen, Osaka. Subaru
said this where SanKyōDai was formed. Also where they wrote some of
their early skits like Osaka to Osaka.
Subaru: Ah that’s was fun Yokoyama: Although we didn’t know if the audience found it interesting, we were very confident that this was very interesting and I remembered so much. Really recalled many things.
3rd clip They met their former producer/sound engineer Ishiyama san. Director: What was Yokoyama and Shibutani like at the time? Ishiyama: (in terms appearance) not much has changed since that time. Before when Yoko went home, he often called and said “My wallet is missing.” Subaru: This is still the same now (lol)
4th
clip They went to the roof. Subaru mentioned this where he, Yoko and Yasu wrote a lot of their Sankyodai songs. All the Sankyodai songs were rehearsed in this studio. Songs like Purin, Amechan, & Mikan. Subaru said he had forgotten about it but being back helped him remember all of it again

Yoko
& Subaru were walking towards the old Kansai TV station where they spent a
lot of time in their junior days only to find out it’s now a car park lol. (The
original Kansai Tv station was closed down in 2011 due to old age, the head
office is now in modern building in Ogimachi Park) Subaru is kinda sad it’s
gone now. Yoko talks about how theres no wehre to sleep & he used to go in
without permission bc the security was lax then lol. Yoko and Subaru claimed
due to muscle memory that this was the area they filmed J3KANSAI. Yoko pointed
to an area where he used to nap on a prop chair lol
2nd part
Went
across the street to Pulupo Studios that used to assist in production. The staff
surprised them with their old Honjani sport uniforms aww they looked so
excited. They first opened their old volleyball uniforms and of course they start
making fun at how lame the numbers that they chose. Like Yasu’s or Yassan’s 88, or Yoko’s 4 (because
4 is for top players in basketball and Yoko loves basketball). Yoko was
laughing so hard bc he can’t believe how lame it was for Subaru to choose a ❤️ ofcourse they
laughed the hardest when they saw a number 0 to represent a circle chosen by the
one and only Maru haha. Then they opened the ice hockey uniforms. They said
that location shoot was especially hard because they left at dawn in Kyoto.
Yoko said it was hell finding a bus at 5 am (aww this was era they still need to
arrange their own transports). The director said the staff got severely scolded
by the ice rink for leaving so late, Yoko and Subaru was like good! They should have been yelled at!. Yoko was especially happy lol
Subaru: these clothes are given gifts
for the audience (subtitle caption: no we won’t send them as gifts!)
